J2EE Value Proposition
The ideal value proposition of J2EE is the elimination of internal transaction boundaries, replacing them with a seamless IT nervous system which possesses minimum latency, minimum redundancy and maximum context synchronization.
The reality is that J2EE can only eliminate some, but not all, boundaries because of legacy and resource constraints.
If J2EE growth is topping out, then we can reasonably assume that the marginal cost of reducing transaction boundaries is approaching the marginal savings from that reduction.
To realize the true potential of J2EE, something in this equation needs to change....
