The Situation
Drew Falkman, draws several conclusions which seem reasonable at first glance.
Upon closer examination, I have disagreements.
Eclipse shows a slowing rate of growth but I don't believe it's attributable to NetBeans. The growth of both has been based on java & J2ee growth.
The Eclipse 3.0 release preceded the NetBeans 4.0 release by five months.
I believe this lag time masks a similar pattern of slowing growth for NetBeans; slowing growth from J2EE market maturation.
The current rate of growth in both products is similar.
